Prospective Students
The graduate program in Clinical Anatomy values both academic excellence and research experience in their applicants. Applicants are reviewed for entry in the fall semester (August) each year.Admissions timeline
- If you are interested in applying to the Clinical Anatomy Program, please send email to: clinicalanatomydirector@umc.edu
- You can complete the online admissions application.
- Prospective PhD students who wish to attend the Graduate School Spring Recruitment Day must have applications submitted by December 15.
- Review of completed applications will begin in January with decisions being finalized in April.
Admissions criteria
- Baccalaureate degree in a relevant scientific discipline
- GPA (3.0 or better)
- Three letters of recommendation
- Copies of predoctoral transcripts
- Personal statement*
- TOEFL, IELTS or PTE-A scores for international applicants

* The personal statement in the online application is labeled “Research Interest and Experience Essay “Please use this question to explain the following, as applicable: 1) Your motivation to earn a Doctor of Philosophy degree; 2) Your prior teaching or research experience; 3) Specific UMMC faculty or research areas of interest to you; 4) What you envision your career to be within 5 years of completing a PhD degree.
